One Drive Shared Folder Sync Issue

Hi

I have a folder shared with me, which I synced, so that it downloaded into my personal files on my computer and would be in sync.

Last week One Drive appeared to crash, so I logged out and back in. The folder that was syncing was renamed to something else and was no longer a shared/syncing folder.

I went online to "Shared" and tried to resync the folder, but there is no longer an option to sync. There is an option to create a shortcut, which just creates and internet shortcut link.

I have tried removing the sharing to the folder and recreating it, but it makes no difference.

How can I get the sync working again?

Having the same issue. Trying to get a new employee set up on a new PC so they can use our company files and folders but am unable to - apart from the less than ideal web version! This is not great Microsoft! Along with the horrific new Outlook I'm beginning to wonder why I keep insisting on using Microsoft products.

Over the past two weeks, we've been facing a similar persistent issue, where files do not appear in File Explorer when accessed online for shared files. Despite our efforts to resolve the problem through various methods, the issue remains unresolved. We tried unlinking and re-linking the PCs, reinstalling OneDrive, and even the OS running on our PCs while keeping personal files, resetting the PC and deleting all files. Unfortunately, none of these steps have restored the files to File Explorer. This situation affects our collaboration using the shared folder contents and we are loosing money everyday. Please solve this issue as soon as possible.

    Hello, Gill Savage1

Thanks for raising your concerns in Microsoft Community.

We are aware of the issue and are working on resolving it. The url files will automatically convert back to folders when the issue is resolved. For now, we recommend accessing shared folders that are in this state on OneDrive.com.
