Authenticator

Had to use another microsoft account just to be able to post this because I cannot log in to my account.

I changed phone and the Authenticator app needs the Authenticator app to authenticate... The only methods to authenticate are "Approve a request on Microsoft AUthenticator App" or "Use a verification code", which both uses the app.

Somehow, even after reinstallation my account is listed on the Authenticator app, but it just does not receive any notifications. I reinstalled mutliple times, restarted the phone, made sure notifications are enabled etc but still nothing.

I am told to use https://aka.ms/mfasetup but for this you need to log in.

I have a recovery email but no option to receive a code this way for some reason. It is valid as I managed to change password.

Contacted the Microsoft Support and after talking to a robot for a bit I was able to talk to 2 real persons and initiate a support ticket. Let's see how it goes

Only Authenticator listed as method (twice).

I have successfully managed to change my password using my recovery email but it still requests the Authenticator after that sadly

    Hi.

Have you enabled any login methods except MFA on account.microsoft.com? If so, that should show up in the list of verification methods.

You may also try resetting the password for your Microsoft Account. You should see your backup email/phone number there. You might be able to log into your account after the change.

If you successfully logged into your account, go to https://account.microsoft.com/security and add your desired authentication methods.

    Regards
