Text-only paste keyboard shortcut (CTRL+ SHIFT + V) in Word doesn't work. This feature was introduced a while ago and my organization has MS 360 - so why doesn't it work?

You can assign the shortcut yourself.

In Word for Windows, click File > Options > Customize Ribbon > Customize. In the dialog box, choose the "All Commands" category and find the PasteTextOnly command. Click in the "Press new shortcut key" box and enter the key combination you want. Click Assign.

Later, if/when you are prompted to save your template, choose to do so.

    HiAram Vartanyan!

I'm Shakiru and a Word user like yourself.

I'm sorry, but in Microsoft Word, Ctrl+Shift+V doesn't work.

Instead, you'll need to use a special option in the ribbon menu.

    To do that:

Click Home tab and click “Paste,” then select the icon that looks like a clipboard with an “A” on it (“Keep Text Only”), which will paste without formatting.

Please check John Korchok's comment on this thread Why Office has still not integrated Ctrl-Shift-V ? - Microsoft Community

    Thank you

    Best Regards,

    Shakiru

    This worked, thank you!!

I have to say that I'm still kind of stunned that there isn't a shortcut for this across the board for MS Office. I think way more people want this than the current feedback submissions imply. I have tried your suggested approach in PowerPoint but haven't figure out if it's possible. The customization there is different.

    You are welcome.

P.S. Many of the shortcuts have been around for years in Word. Changing popular ones is a precarious task for Microsoft. A couple of months ago, it was reported that some shortcuts would be changed; see https://insider.microsoft365.com/en-us/blog/new-zoom-shortcuts-in-word. I am not sure that the plans were fully implemented, because of the protests that followed in these forums.
