VB Word Program stopped working after automatically updated to 365. "Word cannot give a document the same name as an open document. Type a different name for the document you want to save."

I am working for a company with a program that uses Visual Basic to create an emergency manual. The program has a merge button that merges all the sub-documents to make the manual. The program stopped working after Word, Excel, and Outlook were automatically updated to 365. This is the message "Word cannot give a document the same name as an open document. Type a different name for the document you want to save."
