transcription problem

Hey!

I use OneNote and Word for my school notes, and I was thrilled until yesterday. I use the transcription to have notes from voice recordings, which are 3 hours maximum. It was working very well but now, it transcribes just the beginning of the recordings (less than a minute). I tried for many times with the same recording and different recordings (from 35 minutes to 3 hours) but nothing changed, I tried on OneNote and Word, but it's still the same. To be honest, I really need that feature, please help me to solve this.

Best regards

    Hi Ezgi,

I know you've had some problems using the transcription features of Word and OneNote for proper transcription.

This could be related to the microphone, Office configuration or an error.

If it's convenient, please try the following options:

    1. Test the microphone:

Make sure your microphone is working properly by first testing your microphone for intake with some recording tests.

    2. Enable Word Safe Mode:

Word Safe Mode loads only the most basic items and excludes third-party interference, which can sometimes solve some common problems.

Press Windows +R, type: winword /safe and then enter to open into the safe mode of the Word program using the confirmation. After enabling is complete, please try transcription again.

    3. Dictate the document in Word Online

This will help determine if the problem is a misconfiguration of the local Word application.

Try dictating a document in Word Online by following these steps:

Please try the above steps first and feel free to contact me if you are not sure or have any questions.
