Hi,

I have a consumer subscription of Microsoft 365.

I want to use Excel to get data from a SharePoint List.

In my Excel the "Get Data > From Online Services > From SharePoint Online List" is missing

WHAT I CURRENTLY SEE

WHAT I NEED TO SEE

QUESTIONS

  1. Is it possible to install an add-in on my consumer Excel version to activate the functionality? Where do I find the add-in?
  2. Or must I purchase a business subscription of Microsoft 365? And which level of subscription has that functionality?

Thank you.

Dear respected Paolone- [O365],

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I’m sorry you’re having a problem and for the situation you encountered, we deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

As per your description, based on my test a lot, i cannot find a available add-ins to connect from SharePoint online List. And I'm sorry and I'm afraid in Excel app the "Get Data > From Online Services > From SharePoint Online List" feature is only available in the business versions of Microsoft 365, such as Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Microsoft 365 Business Premium, and Microsoft 365 E3.

Unfortunately, this feature is not available in the consumer version of Microsoft 365, which is the version you have. Therefore, you will not be able to use Excel to get data from a SharePoint List using this method.

Please understand that our initial reply may not always immediately resolve the issue. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

I'm sorry and I apologize for that.

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Waqas Muhammad
