Help me with my One Drive Client

Question

One drive has refused to function, it's processing forever sometimes showing a processing count of over 13,000,000 changes with zero progress as it's not uploading the files nor is downloading files locally.

It's not letting me open local files and gives me an Error: 0x8007017C The cloud operation is invalid.

"I was partially able to fix Error: 0x8007017C by just dragging the files to Onedrive on the browser and I started getting the green check mark on a few files but there are around 15K files and this is too slow, the results are not perfect and only a tiny success rate and I can't run my laptop for days on end"

Things I have tried that were mentioned as potential fixes and what was the outcome

Unlink the Account.

I tried to unlink it and it gets stuck in a loop signing out forever, when I quit the task and relaunch it opens as if I had not unlinked it and starts processing forever.

disable or enable files on demand.

it was already disabled as I need most of my files saved locally and enabling it didn't do anything.

Run Command "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset" to reset

No changes happened giving a reset with the run command was not working because it wants to finish the sync and only then start the reset

deleting the Onedrive registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\OneDrive

Resetting Windows

Clean Install Windows 11 which came with Onedrive with V 23.032 with the installation

"This version worked for a short while till it started to bug out and refused to sign in and gave me errors and I had to switch to the current version V24.126 as of this post"

Reaching out to Microsoft Support

he couldn't help much and redirected me to mail Onedrive support and no response from there

roll back to an older version V 23

it updated to the current version as soon as the installation finished and opened.

I have to say that this reported error is rare, and if you've emailed the onedrive team, I really don't have any other good advice for you, but I found these two articles:
