Transferring Office software when old computer is damaged

I have an Office 365 subscription that I'd like to transfer to my new Mac. All the instructions I can find online mention that you have to uninstall the software on the old computer before installing it on a new one, but my old computer is water damaged and can't be turned on. Is there a way I can remotely uninstall?

    Hi JH_101,
Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.
In fact, if you have a Microsoft 365 subscription, you do not need to uninstall it from your old computer. This is because both the Microsoft 365 Family and Personal subscriptions support simultaneous use on more than five devices:

For more information please see: Compare All Microsoft 365 Plans (Formerly Office 365) - Microsoft Store

The instructions you found to uninstall Office from your old computer apply to users who have purchased perpetual products like Office 2021. Therefore, I suggest you first log in Services & subscriptions | Microsoft Account to ensure that your Microsoft 365 subscription is indeed linked to your Microsoft account. Then, click on your Microsoft 365 product to download it and follow the prompts to reinstall it on your Mac.

We look forward to your update.

    Best Regards,
