Saved document on Microsoft feed?

I saved my Excel document. Later, I noticed that it was on the feed and had been viewed 36 times. I’m not sure by whom. I don’t want other people viewing my document when I didn’t share it to begin with.

Please let me know how to remove it from the feed and how to avoid it being on the feed the next time I save my document.

Thank you.

    Dear Morenikeji Zainab Abdulraheem (0300807a),

    Thank you for your update.

Based on the screenshot you provided, I'm trying to reproduce this situation of yours on my side, i.e. it shows Private under Sharing tab, but You shared this file under Activity tab. Based on my test result, the situation you described only occurs when you stop sharing the file through Manage access after you share it with other users.

It appears to be that you once shared the file, but then you stopped sharing the file.

On the question you mentioned at the beginning, when you save a file to your OneDrive, the file will automatically appear in the Feed list, and you can't remove it. Because the Feed shows all the files or chats that you have permission to access. If another user doesn't have permission to access the file, it won't appear in their Feed. If you have any question, let me know and I would like to assist you.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Sincerely,

    Hi,

My apologies for the delayed response.

I was able to identify the status of the file and it is listed as "Private", but under the activity section, it states "You shared this file".

    Dear Morenikeji Zainab Abdulraheem (0300807a),

    Thank you for posting back.

Based on the information you provided, there is no doubt that OneDrive for school account is considered as the personal location.

I understand you description, you saved the file to your OneDrive location and didn't share it with anyone. But it looks as if it has been accessed by other users without your permission. In order to narrow down the issue, please sign in your OneDrive Online with your work or school account and double-check that the file is in “Private” status.

Let me know the result. Thank you for your time and patience.

    Sincerely,

    Thank you for your response!

I saved the file using my school email address in a OneDrive location called OneDrive - xxx University. Could this be considered as a public location?

I did noticed a filed under “Personal” called OneDrive - Personal using my personal email address.

Was that why it posted on the feed? Because I saved the document under the school’s OneDrive location instead of the personal OneDrive location? Or is that not the case…?

I checked using an iPhone device, but I saved it with my Android tablet.

    Dear Morenikeji Zainab Abdulraheem (0300807a),

Good day. Thank you for poting to Microsoft Community.

Microsoft Feed provide a place to show all documents and chat history that you have permission to access. If you have permission to access a file, it will show on Microsoft Feed.

As you mentioned “other people access your documents”, if you save your files in a public location or locations that other users have access to, then this is a normal phenomenon. So, may I know where you have saved the file?

And you can’t remove it from feed, if you don’t want other people access your file, you need save it in a private location.

Due to the limited permission on the Andriod Phone, I recommend you check this on PC, it may be more convenient on the PC side.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

    Sincerely,
