Hyperlinks' Advanced Setting for Word Document lost after sending over email

Hi all,

I am working on a Word document to create a manual for my colleagues.

It has hyperlinks pointing to various places within the same Word document.

I have specifically UNTICKED the Advanced Setting for 'Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink', so that whoever uses the manual can simply click the hyperlinks without needing to press CTRL.

I saved the file with the Advanced Setting unticked.

If I re-open the file on my laptop, the unticked setting is there and I can click hyperlinks easily.

However, when the file is sent over email and downloaded by the recipient, the Advanced Setting goes back to the default TICKED position, requiring CTRL to be pressed to get the hyperlinks working.

What can I do please to ensure the file can be sent and received with all Advanced Settings intact?

Thank you.

    Dear Wordster888,

Please check whether the Use Ctrl+Click to follow hyperlink is ticked in the user's Word application.

If no, the issue may happen and I suggest you untick it and then download the file from the email to see whether the issue disappears.

If the recipient is from another company or tenant, I'd like you to let him check whether the GPO policy is enabled on Use Ctrl+Click to follow hyperlink in his environment.

If yes, that may be the root cause of the issue and he may need to disable the policy to move forward.

Do the recipient use the same version of the Word application as you? If it is convenient, upload a full screenshot of the Account page in the Word application for our reference. You can access the page via clicking on File>Account.

Note: Remove any private information before uploading the screenshots.

Welcome to share any updates at your convenience.

Thank you for your effort and time.

    Sincerely
