While performing a linear regression with 22 observations, using the regression facility, the system replies that it can allow only up to 16 'variables', interpreting, that my 22 data points are variables, which is not the case... I am only using an X vs Y information Any suggestion?

If you arrange your data with X and Y values each in a column, then the Regression tool may not be confused.
