Hi,

This issue has been occurring since March 2024. I've followed all previous guidance provided by the support community (clearing site data, cookies, etc), but continue to have this issue in a normal browser. It only works for me in an incognito browser.

When I open this app in a regular browser window (Chrome) I get this page error: Error loading user settings. Please try again. If this continues please contact customer support.

And this console error:

    Hi Kristin,

Thanks for posting back and sorry for my late reply.

As it works fine in an incognito Chrome browser, the issue may be caused by your local environment or Chrome. Therefore, I suggest you use another browser to test again. This can help us to troubleshoot the issue.

    • If the issue occurs when using another browser, please point it out and let us know.
    • If the issue only occurs when using a regular Chrome browser, I suggest you check the existing extensions in your Chrome. You can disable all extensions, and then check again. If the issue still occurs, I suggest you reinstall Chrome and check again.

Additionally, based on your reply, I would like to know how you are accessing the Planner web app. Is the issue occurring when accessing Planner through a browser bookmark, or is the issue also occurring when accessing www.office.com and clicking on the Planner icon in the left sidebar?

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    George | Microsoft Community Moderator

    1. Yes, I've used all recommendations from other support tickets.
    2. I don't understand how downloading another browser to use only for this web application is a solution? My colleagues use Chrome and do not experience this issue (see #4)
    3. The problem occurs when I try to access just the Planner web application, when I try to open a link to a specific planner, and when I open a link via email related to a planner item that was updates. Any/All Planner URLs give me that issue.
    4. No other colleagues have reported this issue. It's only me as far as I'm aware.
    5. We don't use mobile applications, but I can use the Planner in the Teams application. It's only the web browser that gives me issues.

    Hi Kristin,

Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.

I'm afraid I can't get useful information based on the error. Per your description, I would like to collect more information to troubleshoot.

    1. For "I've followed all previous guidance provided by the support community", do you mean you have already raised a support ticket or you have searched our community for threads with similar issues?
    2. As you didn't mention all the steps you've tried, I'm wondering if you've tried using another browser, like Edge.
    3. Is the problem occurring with access to a specific plan or all plans?
    4. Are your colleagues experiencing the same problem?
    5. If you use the Planner app for mobile, does the problem occur?

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
