Internal hyperlink formatting lost when saved as PDF

My Word document has nearly 200 links in it. When I Save As PDF and choose .pdf as the extension, the formatting of the internal hyperlinks in both the Word and the PDF documents is removed.

In the attached image (an "after" shot) the original hyperlink was "User Role Assignment, Account Provisioning and System Access" but now it includes "3.0" which is the heading text, and the word "Access" is now black without underlining.

How do I keep that from happening (aside from purchasing the Adobe Acrobat software)?
