Stock Data error in Excel

I am trying to use the Stock data type in excel on a macbook running OS Sonoma 14.5. I have a personal Microsoft 365 subscription that is activated. Every time I try to convert a ticker text to Stock data type by clicking "Stock" in the Data menu I get the following error message: "You need to sign in with a subscription account to use these data types. Select Microsoft Excel from the top menu and then select Sign in." I have tried signing out and in multiple times. I have also tried downloading other versions of Microsoft 365 with the help/advice from a member of the Microsoft support team, but nothing seems to work thus far. Any help on this error would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yes that might be it. My subscription is active but I'm outside the US. Do you have a list of locations where the feature is available?

    Hi

You can verify your login was accepted by going to the Menu Bar and choosing Excel > About Microsoft Excel. If you are signed in, the License Type should have the word Subscription in it.

This feature isn't available in every region. Are you in the USA?

    Hi,JDinho876

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Understanding that you are experiencing issues with Excel, for your problem, it is recommended that you try to delete the Office license file on your Mac, which will help in clearing the possible licensing issues. You may refer to this link:  How to remove Office license files on a Mac - Microsoft SupportAfter removing the license files, please restart Excel. After launching Excel, try to sign in to your Microsoft 365 account again. Please check that the logged in account is displayed correctly and that you have the correct subscription information.

If the problem persists or you have any questions, please feel free to contact us

    Best regards
