Hi,

In my Home Student Excel for Mac 2019 I can't find the Randomize functions like RANDBETWEEN and RAND, even though I checked the Analysis Tool Pack and Solver add-in.

Is that correct?

So if I upgrade to Excel for Mac 2021, do I get these functions RAND and RANDBETWEEN?

Thanks for helping.

Geert

Both of those functions are regular functions... Neither is contained in the Analysis ToolPak or has any relation to Solver.

    Hello, GeertvSt.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community!

We noticed that you don't seem to find the RAND and RANDBETWEEN functions in your Excel for Mac 2019, but according to the official instructions, we are able to find these two functions in the instructions are supported by Excel for Mac 2019:

    RAND function - Microsoft Support

    RANDBETWEEN function - Microsoft Support

You can try typing directly into the cell:

    RANDBETWEEN(1,100)

to see if it really doesn't respond. If it doesn't, we suggest you reinstall excel.

In addition, regarding your mention of upgrading Excel for Mac 2019 to Excel for Mac 2021, we would like to remind you that these are two different permanent versions, and if you choose to switch, you will need to purchase it, so please consider your current usage plan carefully before making a decision.
