Thanks for the update. I'm glad you got things sorted, even though it would be nice to know what went wrong before, obviously.

    Stefan

It is just remarkable. Yesterday I could only see files from April 2023 and older.

TODAY all my files are there!!

    Thanks for your help!

    All is good ...........

Are you able to locate your files if you sign in, using your web browser, at https://onedrive.live.com?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    My problem is:

"And in Word etc the default Save location is set to OneDrive.

No Docs/data is stored on the local PC"

The doc/data that was recovered when i reinstalled OneDrive is from April 2023 and before.

Where is the data that was created past that date and even this week?

I have nothing of the recent files I created and saved - they are what is important to me.

OneDrive is not a backup, it’s a cloud location of your data.

The default installation of Office 365 and its OneDrive component uploads all the contents of the PC  \My Documents\ folders to OneDrive, (syncs) and there will be a OneDrive folder in File Explorer containing cached copy of all the OneDrive content. And in Word etc the default Save location is set to OneDrive.

No Docs/data is stored on the local PC

You cannot remove OneDrive on a retail O365

If you dont wish to use OneDrive there are numerous settings that need to be changed in each O365 component, but OneDrive will still be the default save location

You can reinstall O365 not any individual component
