Syncing a shared OneDrive folder locally.

I am trying to locally sync a OneDrive folder that's been shared with me, but I can't find a way to do it. I have no options to sync a shared folder. Is it possible? I have the Microsoft 365 Personal plan. I do not want to simply download a copy, but would like the live version to work on locally (as I would with anything that appears in My Files).

    Hi,

I've tried doing that but it generates a shortcut to the files on OneDrive online. It doesn't download the actual files locally, in the same way as files I own, which is what I'm after.

    Can you help?

A lot of people are facing this issue now.

The only thing I can offer is that if adding the folder to your OneDrive maxes out your storage quota, you may not have the option "Add shortcut to My files."

    Hi TheBozBoz,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

If you have editing permissions on the folder, you should have the "Add shortcut to My files" option available.

Go into your Microsoft account, then to Subscriptions > "View all subscriptions" and check if you have the Microsoft 365 plan.

Let me know if that helps. I'll try to answer any other questions you may have.

    Best regards,

    Craig
