Data from text file mutates/changes when copied in Excel

Dear reader,

When I want to copy/paste values from a text file to Excel is changes the number in a weird way.

For example:

Textfile contains this number: 1405,23484357812024

Excel pastes it as: 140.523.484.357.812.024

I have the feeling something goes wrong with comma and dots but I cannot find the solution.

("Paste Special..." doesn't seem to work).

It also seems like it's multiplied by multiple factors.

Thank you for your answer

Thank you, 'change type' to 'Text' worked!

That's normal, you have to import the data from text file.
