🐍 + Excel = 😁

🥳 I was super excited to see Python was being supported in MS Excel.

🗓️ I have been waiting for this functionality for a very long time.

🥹 I was pretty sad to see the limitation of only 8,415 characters per python script.

🤞Is there any way to increase this? I can't run my python script since I am merging multi sheets and data frames into 1 data frame being outputted for a report.

Keep up the good work and bring python to excel!

🐍 dev ♥️ Excel!

Awesome! I will ask my question in that other forum. I am indeed using the Python function =PY("The Script goes here") in a cell.

Just curious do you know if VBA has this same limitation?

    Thank you!

    Dear SpottedCow85

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

If you are experiencing problems with character limits when using Python with Excel, it may be due to a limitation imposed by a tool or library you are using, such as Excel's Python integration feature. This limitation may be due to technical constraints or to performance and security concerns.

If you are using a specific feature of Excel, such as "Power Query" or Excel's "XLL" add-in feature, you may want to check the tool's documentation for a possible solution, or seek help from the tool's support community. You can post this question to Excel - Microsoft Q&A using the Python tab and other related tabs, and you can ask for specifics and share your ideas for solving the problem in the forums.Since this feature is still in preview, if you have any ideas or suggestions about Microsoft Office applications you can post them on the dedicated feedback platform Excel · Community (microsoft.com), where a dedicated developer will pay attention and comment on your feedback. After sending your feedback, you can share the feedback link in this forum so that other users with similar issues, including me, can vote on your feedback, and the more votes you get, the more likely you are to get attention from the development team. Finally, while I cannot assist you further, I hope the information I have provided will help you find a better direction. I will reserve this question in case one of our great volunteers comes up with an idea for you. Best regards Jennie | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
