Authenticator app approval

I have recently got a new phone so I am trying to add my accounts back on to the authenticator app, when I try to log in the email it is asking me to approve it on the authenticator app but when I try and log in on the app it is asking me to approve it using the app which is therefore impossible because I can not approve it on the app if it will not let me log in, can you help?
