The Microsoft service department at <removed> is absolutely terrible. I was having trouble with the Authenticator app working. The individual. Called said there is a one time service to fix this, I said you are not charging me a fee and he hung up. I called back. Got the same guy. He said he needed to have remote access to my tablet and this would generate a fee. I said no to the fee he hung up again. After 45 minutes of trouble shooting I was able to fix the issue. A fee wasn’t required, and all that was needed was a little bit of support from the support line. This employee should be reprimanded or fired for the terrible service, and attempted theft

The 'Microsoft support center' at that number is not actually affiliated with Microsoft in any way. You will not find that number listed anywhere on official Microsoft support pages. Instead it is a shady scam-like support service that pretends to be affiliated. I have tried several times to report them on Google search results as they fraudulently list their website as being Microsoft, but have had limited luck thus far. Please act with appropriate caution and never provide financial information or access to your computer to anyone unless you have verified directly on origin site that you've contacted the correct party.

It's normal. There are bound to be some items that are charged for. It's like tipping when you eat at a restaurant.
