Word search/replace/highlight

I'm working on a script and needed to highlight all the character's names to make them easier to find. After about the 3rd name/replacement, Word began not only highlighting the name, but the word after the name???

Sometimes the word previous to the name as well.

is there something I fumble fingered and changed the settings?

I went back and double checked and there are no spaces after the word in the search window, nor in the replace window.

Hi Jet_Gardner, thank you for your reply and clarification.

So, you were searching Det. Schuller manually, and you noticed the words after each Det. Schuller were also highlighted.

If possible, could you share a file by private message?

Have you noticed similar symptom/behavior in other Word files?

This is for Word for Windows, which I only purchased last year for my computer exclusively.

Note the illustration, when the name Boon was found and replaced, only the word Boon was highlighted.

After that, all other words that were searched out and highlighted, had the words after them and sometimes before them highlighted as well.

I had done Det. Schuller after Boon, then the word waitress and it was still on the window when I screen printed the page. the word after her was also highlighted.

    Hi Jet_Gardner,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Do you mean if you search the WAITRESS, but it highlights the red circled word in the picture?

If your problem is related to development, it's more recommended to ask at Office - Microsoft Q&A, where is more professional. If your problem is related to VBA, I am afraid that VBA has been end of support, it's more recommended to post VBA programming questions to Stack Overflow by using the vba tag, along with any other relevant tags.
