    Hello PAULA FERREIRA5, Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

    Can you please tell me if you open Word, click on File in the upper left corner, and then click on Account in the lower left corner, and the error message on the right side is the same?

    If so,what you are facing is a popular problem that came up recently, I am very confident in solving it, I have helped many users with this problem in August and it is not that difficult to do, so please give it a try:

    • Alternative version
    1. Close all Office software, search for "Command Prompt" (or "cmd") in the "Start menu", right-click and select "Run as administrator";
    2. At the command prompt, enter the following code:
       cd %programfiles% \Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun

      Enter;
    3. And then he walks in
       Officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17531.20120

    4. Once you exit the version, go to the File menu > Word account. On the right side, check the "Microsoft 365 and Office updates" heading, click the "Update options" button, and select the "Disable updates" option. Here's how to turn off the auto-update feature.

    The above action will revert your Microsoft 365 to a slightly earlier version 2404 and temporarily disable updates. Rest assured that minor versions don't affect Microsoft 365 functionality. Stay tuned for Microsoft's official announcement on this matter.

    Here are some topics where I have helped other users with this problem, they are in different languages, so you may need to use a translator, take a look:

    Also, please let me know the results, your feedback is important for me to summarize this problem later. Have a nice day!Arthur - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

    The reason you can't find the parameter may be due to an error in the command you entered, please check it or just manually enter it again. You can also copy the code in my reply and press Ctrl + V to paste it.

    Hi Arthur

    I did paste in directly from the thread. Script threw different errors. I have a copy fo the scripts I ran in case they might be helpful or may even pinpoint where I made any errors.

    This simple solution worked for me whereas the more complicatd solution didn't.

    For a simpler fix, you can try these:

    Close all Office apps first.

    1. Go to File Explorer > View > Show > Hidden items.
    2. Navigate to C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\Local\Microsoft
    3. Delete IdentityCache folder
    4. On the same page, look for OneAuth folder and open it.
    5. Delete the contents of OneAuth folder such as "accounts" and "blobs"
    6. Launch any Office apps and sign in your account. You might need to relaunch the app multiple times until the error is gone.
