    Hi TESMD,

Greetings. Thank you for posting the thread to our community.

Based on your description, it seems you want to make the annotation of your PDF file and automatically save the annotation into your notebooks in OneNote.

As far as I know, I’m afraid and sorry to say there’s no build-in settings to meet this requirement or directly annotate the PDF file in OneNote app.

Personally, I’m totally agree about the inconvenience of your scenario, and annotate a PDF in OneNote is a good condition of the current features of OneNote. Due to this situation, I sincerely recommend you go to Feedback community to vote this similar feedback: Rotate PDF pages · Community (microsoft.com). You can also post your own feedback and requirement in the Feedback community: OneNote · Community (microsoft.com). Our product team is in charge of the site, and they constantly check customer reviews and feedback, The higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay on. And a lot of the features are developed and improved based on customer feedback.

Appreciate for your patience and understanding.

Hope you having a nice day.

    Sincerely,
