    Dear AnnabelWhalley,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that your Excel is not working and showing an error message.

According to your description, we see that you said that "Unauthorized Product" is displayed in Excel. This prompt is usually due to the fact that your Office program is not fully activated and cannot be used normally.

You can check the activation status and activated product version of your Office through "File"-Account"-Product Information. You can share a screenshot with us and we will help you confirm whether it is fully activated.

To help you further confirm the installation and activation information of Office, you can help us try:

    1. Make sure there is Office product information under the account :

You can log in to the Microsoft dashboard:Microsoft account | Sign In or Create Your Account Today – Microsoft

Click "Services and Subscriptions" to see if there is product information under the account.

    1. Install and activate Office

Make sure the version of Office installed in your system is consistent with the version in your account. Then, you can run the corresponding command to help the system detect and confirm the license information:

    1. Press win + X on the keyboard and select "Command Prompt (Administrator)" and enter cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16.

If the prompt path is incorrect, please enter

    cd C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16

    2.   Input (note that there is a space after .vbs, use English input method to input the command):

    cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus

    1. Enter the following command to uninstall the last five digits of the key: cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:

(the last five digits of the key displayed) [e.g.: cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:DV3TM]

    1. Find the shortcut of Office component and log in to Microsoft account again to activate it.

You can try it. If there is any update, you can reply to us, and we will help you check it further.

    Best Regards,

Zenobia.Z | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

Do you have a pre-installed O365 Family trial that you have failed to uninstall, or are you using a trial that has now expired?

If you had purchased O365 then review that licence https://office.com/myaccount
