Hello, I just submitted the following complaint to the Better Business Bureau and am posting this here for others who man be in a similar situation.
Since at least 2021, every Feb. 25th, Microsoft Office has been charging me for a yearly subscription service that I cannot access, use, or cancel. I contacted Microsoft earlier this year to cancel the charges, but the Microsoft support team could find any record of my account. In other words, Microsoft has been charging my credit card but has zero record of me as a subscribed user. They do not have the name, email, phone number, or home address associated with the credit card they charge every year. My ticket with Microsoft escalated to the point where they asked for the credit card number being charged so they could do a reverse look up in their system, and still couldn't find any record of me or the card. Because this seems to me an alarming and gross misuse of consumer data, I asked Microsoft to not only stop the charges but reimburse me for the past charges. Microsoft support told me they couldn't help me anymore over the phone. I later received an email from Microsoft telling me to click on a link to further investigate the matter. The link, of course, resulted in an error message. I tried again to contact Microsoft regarding the link and my ticket, but have been unable to reach a human. I contacted my credit card to dispute the charge and assist in the matter. Because such a large company is clearly unable to track and protect its consumer data, including their credit card information, I am filing this complaint with the hopes they can help me and others as I have seen this same complaint on Microsoft's support page. Thank you.
