How do I create functions within columns

I would like to understand how to create functions within and between columns in a table in loop, such as pointing to specific values in other columns / cells or to subtract or add values based on other columns, or to get averages etc.

As a basic example with three or four columns:

START DATE | END DATE | TOTAL DAYS

20/07/2024 | 30/07/2024 | (end date - start date) = 10

Or

AVOCADO | APPLE | ORANGE | TOTAL INVENTORY

20 | 12 | 36 | (sum) = 68

Or

PRICE 1 | PRICE 2 | PRICE 3 | AVERAGE

$100 | $123 | $250 | (sum / 3)

And so on.

Separately, I would also like to know if Mermaid is able to point to specific cells or columns created within a Loop table to automatically churn out charts.

Any help appreciated. Thanks!

    Thanks for the reply Mila.

I am using a work account.

Understand that currently it is not possible to have functions in columns vs columns, such as summing the values in 3 different columns or to get the difference between dates in number of days.

    Hi, Jake53321

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

I understand that you want to create functions in columns in Loop.

I would like to know if you are using a work account or a private account to log into Loop? I have tested it using a private account and unfortunately, at the moment, Loop does not have the option to add functions in columns vs columns.

As for Mermaid, since it is not a Microsoft developed product, it would take a concerted effort between Loop and Mermaid developers to add functions.

Also as a Loop user, I understand that you want to use more functionality in Loop, when Loop can add functions in the created table, it can make Loop more powerful.

Microsoft attaches great importance to user experience, you can submit your ideas and suggestions through the Feedback Hub, and the development team will regularly review submissions for ideas or fixes.
