I just purchased Office through my employer's discount program and followed the directions to add it to my computer with the product key and as it goes through the setup process I get an error (see attached image) message with the error code 30045-44 (1). What is this code and how do I fix it. It is Office 2021 Home and Business for Windows 64bit.

None of this worked, I am still getting the error. My internet connection is stable as I am hardwired into it. I don't know why it is not letting me install it. I tried to follow the steps to do the manual uninstall and even after doing that I still am unable to get it to work.

    Dear James98360,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that an error is displayed when you install the Office program.

According to your description, you purchased the Office 2021 product through your employer's discount plan and installed it. We have checked and confirmed that the error 30045-44 may be caused by the system not correctly detecting the program information during installation or the unstable network connection.

    Need to confirm with you:

Is the network you connected to during installation your home network? Or other network information?

What is your Windows system version? Windows 11 Home or other?

To help confirm whether there are other Office programs and network connection information in your system, you can help us try the following operations:

    1. Change DNS: "Start" > "Settings" > "Network and Internet" > Double-click to open "Change Adapter Options" > Right-click "Connected Network" to open "Properties" > Select "Internet Protocol Version 4", double-click to open > Check "Use the following DNS server address" > Preferred DNS server (4.2.2.1), Alternate DNS server (4.2.2.2) > OK > OK > After changing, try again. Remember to change to automatic after success
    2. Reset Internet Option network options: Press and hold Windows (logo key) + R, enter inetcpl.cpl, then click Advanced, pull down to Security in the "Settings" list, check SSL3.0, TSL1.0, TSL1.1, TSL1.2 applications, and click "Restore Advanced Settings" below, then click "Apply" and "OK"

You can also try to cleanly uninstall the previous installation program and try to reinstall to confirm. This can also help us confirm whether the system detection information is correct:

    1. Make sure there is Office product information under the account and that it can be downloaded and installed:

You can log in to the Microsoft dashboard: Microsoft account | Sign In or Create Your Account Today – Microsoft Click "Services and Subscriptions" to see if there is product information under the account.

    1. Uninstall:

You can try to manually uninstall Office by following the detailed steps in the following link. To manually uninstall Office, you need to try to find the corresponding folder and delete it directly through the prompted path:

Manually uninstall Office - Microsoft Support

    1. Install and activate Office

Once the installation is complete, run the corresponding command to help the system detect and verify the license information.

    1. Press Win + X on your keyboard and select "Command Prompt (Admin)".

    enter

    cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16.

If the prompt path is incorrect, enter the following:

    cd C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16

    1. Enter the input (if there is a space after the .vbs, enter the command using the English input method) to help detect that key information. cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus
    2. Enter the following command to remove the last 5 digits of the key: cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:

(last 5 digits of the displayed key) [e.g. cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:DV3TM]

If you have a lot of displays, you will have to completely erase them several times.

When you're done, open your Office program to activate it. Since you have a license in your account, you will need to log in to your account to confirm your license selection. Once selected, the activation will be successful.

Change your Office product key - Microsoft Support

You can try to operate it to see if it works. If there are other displays or updates, you can reply to us and we will help you check it further.

    Best regards

Have you uninstalled the pre-installed O365 Family Trial version?

In your setup process was an MS Account used/created?
