Excel using , ??

I'm using excel. why are my numbers now using a , instead of a . between dollars and cents?

    Hi Beachmaya,

    Thanks for visiting Microsoft Community.

    It seems that you are experiencing an issue with separators in Excel.

    You can go to File-Options-Advanced, and under Editing options, find the following two settings and change them to what you need. For example, change the thousands separator to "." and the decimal separator to ",".

    The effect after the change is shown in the picture:

    Thank you so much. It appeared to be set as I wanted it - with a . for decimal and a , for thousands - I clicked off and on and it appears to have reset appropriately.
