Is there a way to natively reorder/rearrange rows in a SharePoint list, or is there an add-in that can do this?

Hello Waqas,

Thanks for your response. Thankfully, I have the list replicated on an Excel sheet. I ended up redoing the entire list.

Because I'm using the list in a PowerApp, I need it to display in the app exactly how it does it in the list

What I did was:
edit in grid view
selected all the items

deleted everything

copied from my Excel

pasted the entire list in grid view - thankfully SharePoint allows for mass pasting, so I did not have to paste one at a time.

Hopefully, Microsoft will introduce a way to reorder rows in SharePoint lists easily.

Thanks again.

Update:
I just found this https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/drag-and-drop-to-reorder-list-items-008e249b-22dd-4bcf-93e2-eabffd581641.
I think it solves my problem.

    Dear respected AutomaticMold99,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, I'm Sorry there is no built-in natively reorder/rearrange rows feature in a SharePoint list.

However, based on my test, you may use workaround.

1.One workaround is, try to order them the way you wanted to by sort via go to Edit current view>Sorted the listed, give that sorted View a name>Saved that sorted View as the Default View.

This made it show up in SharePoint List in the order that you wanted.

    1. Or you can click "Edit in grid view" and select the all row/fields to copy the existing item(Ctrl+ C), and paste( Ctrl + V) it to the top. It will create a new item with the same values, and then Delete the original items.

You can click "Edit in grid view", and select all fields of all items.

Ctrl+ C, select all fields of the last item (the row displays "Add new item"), Ctrl + V

    Delete the original items.

Please understand that our initial reply may not always immediately resolve the issue. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

I'm sorry and I apologize for that.

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad
