Excel hyperlink fail

Why complicate the great features of Excel with Onedrive?

Creating a link to open a file folder on my laptop to select files from.

The results is the path to the folder being changed to a web address and opens onedrive.

I have selected the actual address for the folder on my C drive using the properties feature and placed it in the link section but when I click the link it gives me a not safe warning and when I click continue anyway another message that says the file can't be opened???

Read and tried all the methods found here but nothing works.

I simply just want to click the link and have the file folder open to select documents from.

    Dear RayBerard1,

Thanks for visiting Microsoft Community.  I am happy to help you.

I understand that you are failing to use hyperlinks in Excel.

Can you tell me the way you insert links in Excel?

You set it up in File - Options - Trust Center - Trust Center Settings by following these steps:

You unchecked Office data link files and other data source files in File Blocking Settings and see how it works.

    Looking forward to your reply.
