Close to a month ago various pages within Azure document the notion that:
Azure database for PostgreSQL flexible server (preview) is available via a 1 yr or 3 yr reserved instance
Specifically, I'm trying to purchase a 1 year reservation for this, so i can deploy an E4_v3 memory optimized instance. We're operating under a CSP agreement, and our CSP partner hasn't been able to place this order either.
Why I believe this is supposed to be working:
Here’s the pricing page for Flexible Server:
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/postgresql/flexible-server/
Region availability for Azure database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server – the link for that page is here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/postgresql/flexible-server/overview#azure-regions
Microsoft confirms as of August 4, 2021 that Flexible Server for PostgreSQL is available with reserved instance pricing for both one- and three-year reservations. This matches the price list above. The link to this page is here:
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/updates/public-preview-of-azure-database-for-postgresql-flexible-server-now-offers-reserved-instance-pricing/
But...when I go to actually purchase the reservation, only Single Server and Hyperscale show up as options -- not Flexible Server (preview).
Any ideas on this???
Thanks
Jon
