SharePoint list: possible to copy a folderstructure with items in a *list*

Hi everyone,

I have a list where following option is enabled:

List --> Settings --> Advanced Settings --> Make "New Folder" command available? --> Yes

Then I created a folder structure in my list, something like

\2024\Company-A\Department-X\User-1\item-11

\2024\Company-A\Department-X\User-1\item-12

\2024\Company-B\Department-Y\User-2\item-21

\2024\Company-B\Department-Y\User-2\item-22

\2024\Company-B\Department-Y\User-2\item-23

etc...

It's allowed to create new items on any level of this tree.

Now question:

I want to make a copy of all the folders and items in folder 2024 and save it in a new folder 2025

So the result of this operation should be

\2024\Company-A\Department-X\User-1\item-11

\2024\Company-A\Department-X\User-1\item-12

\2024\Company-B\Department-Y\User-2\item-21

\2024\Company-B\Department-Y\User-2\item-22

\2024\Company-B\Department-Y\User-2\item-23

...

\2025\Company-A\Department-X\User-1\item-11

\2025\Company-A\Department-X\User-1\item-12

\2025\Company-B\Department-Y\User-2\item-21

\2025\Company-B\Department-Y\User-2\item-22

\2025\Company-B\Department-Y\User-2\item-23

etc...

On a document library this is very simple and straightforward: the action "Copy to" is available in the context menu of the folder.

However, this action is NOT available in a list.

How can I copy a whole folder structure with its contents within the same list?

kind regards,

bart plessers

    Dear Bart Plessers,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

Copying a folder structure along with its items in a SharePoint list is not as straightforward as it is in a document library due to the difference in how lists and libraries are designed. Lists primarily handle structured data, while libraries are more about file storage. However, I sincerely recommend you try posting in this specific channel Microsoft Power Platform Community. Members and engineers over there are proficient in the knowledge of Power Automate issues and may have a workaround using this tool.
