Powerpoint Saving Issues

Have been working on a powerpoint for the last 4 days. Frequemtly ran out of battery but autosave saved my work, or at least everything up until the last few sentences, so all was fine. Manually saved many times too. Open my powerpoint up today and it says it was last saved FIVE DAYS AGO. No usual pop up window about recovery, nothing anywhere to suggest I even opened the document these last four days let alone wrote a huge chunk of work due very soon which I was already stressed about getting done but now have to re do. Is there any way to recover it or initiate a recovery window? I don't know why it's not there, auto saving has always worked until now and I manually saved multiple times anyway so where has it gone? Human replies please, I've had enough of AI help desks "solving my issue" and usually be unhelpful or even directing me to proven scam numbers.

    Dear Emily Mooney,

    Good day!!

As per the description shared, I understand your concern and since you have mentioned the AutoSave has saved the presentation & you have also manually saved the presentation before the sudden shutdown of the computer but when you open the presentation today, the presentation is not showing with latest updates, I would like to request you check the version history of the problematic presentation and see whether there is any success of finding the version with the recent changes made:

Open your browser and go to the location where the problematic presentation is present> Right-click on the Version History> Hover your mouse over the previous version> Click on the three dots> Open File> Open the downloaded version to check whether it contain recent changes made.

If there is no success, I would like to request you to access the Recycle bin of the location (OneDrive for Business/SharePoint Online) to check whether you are able to find the version of the problematic presentation. If you are able to find, please select the version and restore it.

If there is no success, please check whether there is any version saved under the Unsaved Locations in the PowerPoint presentation:

Open the PowerPoint app> Open tab> Recover Unsaved Presentations> If you are able to find any version, please select the unsaved presentation and click on Open.

If still there is no success, I apologize to convey that the chances of restoring the missing version is less and if you have chance to connect with the IT admin of your Educational Institution, please contact the IT admin of your Educational Institution and request them to raise a new service request from the Microsoft 365 admin to see whether there can be any luck to restore the missing version.

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!!

    Best Regards,

    Sophia
