Hi Microsoft community,

I am interested in using python for excel but its a bit complicated how the licensing works. I would like to write python code in excel at home and then use it at work. My home license and work license are both different. If i purchase the monthly subscription for the home license and i use this subscription on my work computer would i still have access to the premium benifits.

Futhermore can I be signed into both and not have to transfer a license back and forth. Thanks Microsoft.

Ps. My employer will not purchase this software because python is open source.

    Dear parker,

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist!

Based on your description regarding "Python subscription use on both work and home PCs". If you purchase a monthly subscription for Python in Excel for your home license, you can use this subscription on your work computer as well. Microsoft 365 subscriptions generally allow you to sign in on multiple devices, so you should have access to the premium benefits on both your home and work PCs

You can be signed into both your home and work accounts without needing to transfer the license back and forth. This means you can seamlessly switch between your home and work environments while maintaining access to the premium features of Python in Excel. Python in Excel add-on licenses - Microsoft Support

Since your employer will not purchase the software, just ensure that your work environment allows the use of personal subscriptions for work-related tasks

Thanks for your understanding! Your patience and cooperation will be highly appreciated. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,
