OneNote for Android

In the OneNote app on Android, under the "Notebooks" button, there are a list of "Closed Notebooks" that I cannot seem to delete.

Here is what I tried:

  • Uninstall and re-installing the app twice, cleared the app settings & cache
  • Tried a "long press" to see if there is a hidden menu for each item to delete it
  • The app is the most recent update from Google Play store

The actual files do not any longer exist on OneDrive for the web. The notebooks point to to links on "d.docs.live.net" with a path to a documents folder. These shortcuts seem to be stored on the server side.

How can I have these closed notebook links removed?

    Dear rAcErKeN111

Thanks for raising your concerns in Microsoft Community.

We understand that you are experiencing a problem with the "Closed Notebooks" list in the OneNote client.

It needs to be explained that this interface will display the OneNote notes you have accessed using this account, whether they can be opened or not, as history records. We have also tested this, but unfortunately, there is no setting to turn it off in this list.

We speculate that this is the design of OneNote for Android.

However, we also understand that it is indeed troublesome if many notebooks are accessed or some notebooks are inaccessible but displayed on the interface, so we suggest that you can submit your suggestions on theOneNote feedback platform for this situation, such as adding switch settings options. If it is convenient, please provide as many detailed information as possible, including pictures, copied videos, etc., where there will be dedicated developers to pay attention to and comment on your feedback.

After sending feedback, you can share the feedback link in this forum so that other users with similar problems in the forum, including me, can vote for your feedback. The more votes you have, the easier it is to get the attention of the development team. Thank you for your cooperation.

Finally, although I can't help you further, I hope that the information I provide can help you find a better direction. If you need our assistance in the future, please feel free to contact us.

    Best Regards,
