Remove Access to Onenote

I'm using the OneNote App Version 2410 that is currently on my Surface Pro 9. The account is through my university so it is saved through the school OneDrive. I have tried to remove user access to notebooks I have created with my account but it seems whenever I do so they are no longer able to edit the notebook but are still able to view it, even as it is updated after their permission is removed. I have done so by deleting the initial share link, then with those who I directly shared access with I went to Manage Access and changed their permissions to Remove Direct Access, but both methods still result in them being able to view the notebook and its changes. Is there any way to completely remove access to the notebook so that they can't see anything in it anymore.

    Dear User,

    Good day!!

Apologies for the inconvenience caused and please don’t worry, let’s work together on your concern and move towards a resolution path.

I understand your concern and to my knowledge, the action you have taken to remove the shared links and remove the direct access from the Manage Access is the correct method for removing the access on your Notebooks.

To double-confirm whether they have access, please check the permissions on the Notebook via below steps:

Open your OneDrive for Business in the browser> Right-click on the Notebook> Manage Access> Click on the three dots> Advanced Settings> Check Permissions> Enter the shared user email address> Check Now

If the permissions are shown as none, I would like to confirm whether they have access to the Notebook on their OneNote application. If yes, I am sorry to convey that the removing to the Notebooks will not remove the opened Notebook in the OneNote app, where the users will be able to see the Notebook but can’t make any changes or see the new changes added to the Notebook.

If the shared users are having the permissions, can you please take the screenshot of the check permissions and share it with us?

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!!

    Best Regards,
    Sophia
