I had issues with the following instructions: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/macros-that-we-wrote-in-project-online-in-the/19577051-7a62-4f7b-b80c-58902919108a

Here are the instructions:

  1. Launch Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following command one after the other
  2. cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun
  3. OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17830.20166

I installed this update on 2 people successfully, but the third person gives me an error message:

Something went wrong

We're sorry, we ran into a problem while looking for updates. Please check your network connection and try again later.

Error Code: 30183-27 (400)

How do I fix this issue?

    Dear Dennis,

    Good day!!

Apologies for the inconvenience caused and please don’t worry, let’s work together on your concern and move towards a resolution path.

I understand your concern and since you have mentioned the same steps were able to be performed without any issue on other two devices, it seems the problem is related to Office apps on the problematic device.

In this situation, I would like to confirm whether there is any service such as proxy, antivirus, firewall, VPN are enabled on the problematic device. If yes, please turn it off temporarily and try to downgrade the version with the command prompt to check the outcome.

If still the same problem persists, please perform Online Repair to the Office apps and check whether the same problem persists: Repair an Office application - Microsoft Support

Note: After performing Online Repair, please restart your device and try to downgrade the version.

If still there is no success, we apologize and request you to revert back to previous version with the help of the Office Deployment Tool to check the outcome: How to revert to an earlier version of Office - Microsoft Support

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!!

    Best Regards,

    Sophia
