SharePoint list linked Access table missing SharePoint created fields

I have a table linked in Access to a SharePoint list. When I first linked to Access, all of the fields that SharePoint created included the fields that I created appeared in the Access linked table. I had to make some changes to the list in SharePoint and now only the fields that I created are in Access. I found the recommendation below:

  1. Open Access, go to File > Options > Current Database.
  2. Scroll down to the Caching Web Service and SharePoint tables section
  3. Select Clear Cache on Close.
  4. Delete link to SharePoint.
  5. Close the database and re-open.
  6. Recreate the link to the SharePoint list.

I completed these steps and many of the fields now show up in the Access linked table. However, I'm still missing a few key fields like "created" and "created by". Are there any other suggestions that I need to do in either Access or SharePoint to fix this issue? Thanks.

Try this, please, and let us know what happens.

Right mouse-click on one of the fields in the linked SharePoint list. In the menu that appears, select "Unhide Fields". Does that allow you to display the fields you didn't see otherwise?

There is a difference between default values in fields and default fields in SharePoint lists. The fact that Access does not import default values is not the problem in this scenario.

    Dear respected GusWhotis,

Good morning! Thank you for publishing in Microsoft Community.

We went through your post carefully and appreciate your sharing which will help other Access users when some fields are not showing in imported database. From your concern, it seems like some default fields like Created or Created By is still not showing in Access. Please correct me if I made any misunderstanding of this.

In this situation, I tried to deploy some tests first to confirm the behavior on my side where I displayed some default columns in the SharePoint list like ID, Modified, Created, and Created By, but it seems like none of them has been imported to the database.

Hence, we may sorry to convey there may currently have some feature limitations about import SharePoint list default columns into Access database, and we will submit this via our channel and it is also suggested for end users to submit your feedback and valuable ideas directly to the product development team via How do I give feedback on Microsoft 365? - Microsoft Support

I appreciate your time and effort on checking these above and thank you for your time and cooperation. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,

    Mia | Microsoft Community Moderator
