Remove domain from Microsoft 365

How do I get my domain name removed from Microsoft 365?

I just purchased a domain name from GoDaddy and can't get email activated as it is apparently already connected to Microsoft 365. As I just purchased it, GoDaddy said it may have been in use previously and needs to be released from the 365 tenant.

I don't know how to get that done.
