Contacted Microsoft support and they said there no option to sort by date created or date taken or anything whys that not a feature

I'd love to help you, but the Microsoft Support Forums can only address technical issues, so all I can do is call on those around me to vote for feedback and get this feature noticed by Microsoft so that it can go live soon.

Seems dumb when all other apps have it

I think you have a legitimate need for this, but OneDrive really doesn't have this feature at the moment.
However, I found a related feedback for you in Microsoft's Feedback Center, you can vote for this feedback, and I'll call on people around me to do so as well, which can somewhat prioritize this feedback and bring this need to Microsoft's attention.
