Problems with Microsoft Authenticator

Good morning! I have a problem because I have the full package of Word, Excel, etc., on my computer with a username and password. When I purchased the package, I was told it could be used on up to three computers. I recently bought a new computer, and when I try to log in with my username and password, it tells me to open the Microsoft Authenticator app and that I will receive a code, but I’m not receiving anything. What can I do?

    Dear Claudia Salvador Jornet**,**

Good day! Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft community.

As per your description, it seems like that you are trying to activate your Office suite on a new computer using your username and password. However, the process requires authentication via the Microsoft Authenticator app, and you are not receiving the expected verification code. You’d like to know how to resolve this issue and successfully activate your Office suite on the new device.

The authentication is not the reason for using up to 3 devices, it's the common procedure for securing a subscription.

According to internal information, users may still be prompted to use the Authenticator app due to these security enhancements, even if MFA is turned off. As a result, Microsoft is transitioning users to more secure authentication methods, such as the Microsoft Authenticator application, to improve security and reduce the risk of phishing attacks.

For situations where such issues are specifically related to the Microsoft Authenticator application, there is a dedicated support community that can provide more professional assistance.

I understand your concerns, but since your question is related to Multi Factor Authenticator, I would also like to suggest that you post your concerns in the relevant community, i.e. Ask a question - "Microsoft Entra ID - Microsoft Q&A". to get detailed help from experts.

Note: Microsoft Entra Identity Services provides identity management and access control capabilities. Replace Azure Active Directory.

Sorry to redirect you to a different community, as members posted in this category focus on Microsoft 365 exchange online and without out-of-the-box concerns and limited knowledge of Microsoft Authenticator; So, for fast and better assistance, we have redirected you to the right path.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Have a nice day!!

    Sincerely

    S M Nazmun Nur
