    I understand your concern and to my knowledge, I am sorry to convey that currently it’s not possible to create a custom fields in the Plans created in the basic Microsoft Planner, where can create the custom fields in the Plans created in the premium Planner.

    I agree with you on having the ability to create the custom fields in the Grid View for the plans created in the basic Planner will benefit the users and I suggest you to add your valueable idea as a feedback in the Planner · Community (microsoft.com) which is the best place to share our ideas and improve the Microsoft products.
