    Hi Kim,

Stefan is correct, those options have been there for decades.

Just to make sure, AutoCorrect that we are talking about is a specific Word feature.

There are a lot of other things that people are calling AutoCorrect and have no relationship to this feature.

Here are two pages about this AutoCorrect:

Is that what you and your colleague are dealing with?

If not, could you describe what is happening that you want to turn off?

Which version of Word are you running?

In Word for Windows (= the full version), AutoCorrect refers specifically to triggers & replacements in the AutoCorrect list at File > Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options > AutoCorrect. You can remove individual entries or you can disable this functionality completely if you clear the check mark next to "Replace text as you type."

There are also several "generic" modifications at the top of the list. You can select or deselect these as desired.

In addition, there are other types of automatic corrections found on the AutoFormat As You Type tab of the dialog box. These are divided into three categories: Replace as you type, Apply as you type and Automatically as you type.

If you are running Word on the web, the selection of options is more limited.

The AutoCorrect and AutoFormat As You Type options haven't changed much over the years in Word. Word 2013 definitely has the options that you see in the screen shots shown in my previous reply.

Microsoft 2013 - if you need version, where can we find this? Interestingly enough, another person in our school office has same issue.
