Formatting when opening a shared word document

Hello. I have created a word document which has then been uploaded to the latest (as far as I know) version of SharePoint. When I share that document with others and they "double click" it to open the formatting is corrupted. Is there any way to fix this or a different way to share it.

    To help resolve the formatting issue users're experiencing, could you please double-check if the document opens correctly on their end? Specifically:

    1. How did the user open the document—through your browser or the Office app?
    2. What is the document file extension? for example, .docx
    3. Please ask users to try opening the document using a different method, such as directly in the Office app or through the online SharePoint interface.
    4. Additionally, it would be helpful to compare user Office app version and your Office app version.

    For sharing the file link, you can follow these steps:

    In SharePoint, right-click the document you want to share.

    Select “Share” > click settings icon next to "copy link" > make sure it is either "anyone" link or "specific user" > Enter user email

    Choose “Copy link” to get a shareable link that you can send to others.
