Hi,

I’ve seen this issue reported but has this been ever solved?

Getting password prompt when trying “Compact & Repair” and when trying to Decrypting Database Option Not Available.

To be clear about the problem.

How are you trying to do the Compact & Repair on the accdb?

Is this the Back End or the Front End accdb?

This part of the problem statement is not clear to me, "....and when trying to Decrypting Database Option Not Available." Can you explain further?

One possible step might be creating a new, empty accdb and importing objects from the existing accdb, but we're not at that point quite yet.

    Hi Sophia,

Thank you for looking into this. Yes the PW is correct as I’m able to open the file without issue. This file didn’t prompt for PW in the past when trying to Compact & Repair.

Not sure how can I copy the data as it’s a big file with lots of data input not only by me but other members as well.

    Thank you.

    Kiran

    Hi Kiran Mizuki,

I'd be delighted to help you resolve the MS Access database issue you're facing. Please start by ensuring that you have entered the correct password for the database. Following that, I recommend creating a new, empty database and carefully transferring all elements from the affected database into it. After transferring, close the database, reopen it in exclusive mode, and then secure it with a password.

    Best regards,

    Sophia
