Hi,
i have a spread sheet which is about 75,000 rows and several hundred columns , with many long formulas and IF statements etc and i find that the smallest action (typing 123 in a cell) on the best day will take 15 seconds to complete and maybe 5-7 minutes on a bad day and the file would take 15-20 minutes to save or load, which i understand since it is such a large spread sheet.
What i want to know is if there is any tricks i can use as the spread sheet is multi functional (calculator, filter, tester) so i am constantly entering or editing data and formulas. I have used as many helper cells as i can ( maybe i can add a few more but not many) and have removed all cell formatting which has helped a bit, but it is still painfully slow and often, by simply clicking on the spreadsheet on the bottom it says "Calculating (4 threads)" which im not even sure what its calculating since i only clicked on a blank cell and I'm not sure what it means by 4 threads.
any advice is much appreciated
