Cannot access a shared OneDrive folder in File Explorer

Hello,

I shared a folder from my work laptop to my personal laptop via OneDrive. I gave it permission to access and edit. I can access it from my personal laptop and add or remove files to that folder, but I cannot access it or pin it via File Explorer. What can I do to achieve that?

    I have discussed your situation with other senior engineers.

    We found that the OneDrive in your screenshot does not appear to be a personal user's OneDrive, as a personal user's OneDrive is not black-themed.

    We tested this as a clue and we shared a folder from a corporate OneDrive to a personal OneDrive. The result was that first I would get an alert that the share was successful, but it would be due to the corporate domain control restrictions that the file wasn't actually shared, and the receiving personal account didn't get any alerts either.

    So, if this is the case, then this is by design. I would suggest you to contact the corporate IT administrator. Thank you for your understanding.

    Hello Arthur,

    I am trying to view the shared folder from my work account to my personal account in my personal computer's File Explorer.

    When I log into my OneDrive for my personal account, the file does not appear in the shared with you tab. I can only access the file from the link in the email I received on my personal account. What should I do?

    Hello Abdullah_Rawashdeh,

    Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

    May I ask if your need is to create a shortcut in your OneDrive file for the file being shared?

    If that is your need, this will work:

    1. Sign in:https://onedrive.live.com/login/
    2. Click on Share;
    3. Select the file you need here, then right-click and select Add it to My Files;

    This will allow you to see these shared files in your Explorer;

    Hope this helps you. Best Regards,Arthur - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
