A family of Microsoft products that enable users to capture, organize, and reuse notes electronically.
Hello, Matilda_975
Welcome to the Microsoft community.
I understand that you have encountered a problem with missing content from OneNote Online. I understand how difficult it is to lose important data.
Did you notice the "Sync Status" in the upper-right corner when editing content on the OneNote web version?
I would like to explain to you:
If the "Sync Status" has not changed to "Page Saved" and is still in the "Syncing" state, closing the OneNote web version at this time may result in your edited content not being saved. In this case, you cannot recover this content.
If you want, you can try the following steps.
(Please note that they may not be effective as your edited content may not have been successfully uploaded at that time)
- Visit OneDrive online **** and OneNote online **** in your browser. Open the notebook from there again. Check if the edited content reappears. Sometimes, temporary network fluctuations may cause the content of the notebook to not display completely. You can try:
- Open the website in another browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, etc.)
- Open the website in the InPrivate window. Press Ctrl + Shift +N to open a new InPrivate window in Edge.
- Since the notebooks created in OneNote Online are saved in OneDrive, you can also contact OneDrive Support. To contact: Sign in to OneDrive online and click this link: Email OneDrive Support Or you can click on the feedback button in the top right corner and select "Report a problem."
I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you. I sincerely hope that you have the opportunity to recover important data. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Best wishes,
Lucia Wu - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
