One note sync issues

-Changed hotmail/microsoft password

-Onenote windows 10 had sync issues

-The online version was working

-Closed book in one note 10

-Can create new book in onenote

-Cannot reopen old book

-Cannot reopen old book online!!!!! 404 error not found

-copied online book to new location, still 404 error. No option to download.

-After copy to new location old location file size went from 284MB to 10bytes.

-I don't want to remove account from control panel cause im literally so scared it will break everything.

-UPDATE: both online versions randomly started working, still wont open in onenote 10

This is truly unacceptable in this age, no other applications give me such grief with simply using the software. How can microsoft not sort out signing in issues. Ive had problems so many times with microsoft logins i truly dread the experience and ensure no one messes with accounts. Worse than windows 95 days and dial up modem problems, just wow... not gonna even start on how bad onenote features are.... Stop trying to be apple and just do the basics.

Dear Damon Balaskas,

I am glad to receive your reply.

Based on your reply it looks like your OneNote synchronization issue has been resolved. Your reply is certainly not meaningless and I'm glad you were able to describe your issue in such detail so that we can learn more about this issue.

After our testing, there is indeed no option in OneNote to select multiple sections at the same time to add to other notebooks. However, we are technical support staff and can only provide you with software level technical support in the community, I think it is necessary to add these two features in OneNote to provide user experience, thank you for your suggestion on OneNote product.

I have posted feedback on your request, here is the feedback link:

-Add option to copy section groups to other books -Add option to copy multiple sections to other books · Community (microsoft.com)

You can vote for this feedback, the higher the number of votes the more likely to get the attention of the developers, and if you think my reply is helpful, please mark “Yes” for my reply, so that when other users search for related issues, this issue can be displayed first, and more users can see my feedback link and comment on the feedback. and vote on the feedback.

Thank you for your support and cooperation. Have a great day.

    UPDATE FIXED

Still doesnt work for me. It wont open from web in one note for windows 10.

It does open in one note 16

    -Opened in 16

    -Exported

    -Opened to unpack export

-Detected by one note windows 10 (On this PC)

    -Still wont open

    -Error 0x80004005

EDIT: Finally it did open in windows 10 by clicking file open and selecting the web version of the book again. My issue was the link in the open book in Onenote 10, i think, for whatever reason it finally fixed itself (maybe due to your updates). My default app is 16 and when i clicked open in app from web version it worked but I couldn't be bothered to change default app. Usually I never open books through one note> open. I usually force open through clicking open in app but I want to keep two one note versions one for work (default app 16) and one for personal stuff (10)... This paragraph probably makes 0 sense...

Since I'm here and posting, please for the one note 16 version:

-Add option to copy section groups to other books

-Add option to copy multiple sections to other books

    Dear Damon Balaskas,

    Thanks for visiting Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are having sync issues with OneNote on Windows 10, the online version works.

If you are only unable to see your notes in the OneNote desktop app then this is not your cause, there are many users in the community in many areas who have recently reported the same issue as you and a product manager from the OneNote team has stated that this is a known issue, you can check his response from this thread.

OneNote sync failure error code:0xE00009C8 bb0ur - Microsoft Community

I believe the OneNote team is investigating why this issue is occurring as many users in many regions are experiencing this issue, but we do not know the exact time frame for this issue to be resolved, I will get back to you as soon as possible if this issue is resolved, thank you for your understanding and support.

    Best regards
